We asked Connie Witter of Because of Jesus Ministries to share with us a devotional from her book, “21 Days to Discover Who You Really Are in Jesus.”

In a world where we tend to define ourselves by the world’s standards, we often feel like we don’t quite measure up. Insecurity, fear, and lack of confidence are all the result of defining who you are by what people think of you and what you do.

 It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you become a new person in Christ. You don’t have to define yourself by the world anymore. Who you truly are is found in Jesus.

When you know who you are in Jesus and believe it, you’ll be transformed from the inside out, and you’ll live the glorious life that God has planned for you.

You have an enemy who doesn’t want your life to glorify God, so just like he did to Eve in the Garden of Eden, he attempts to deceive you with his lies. It’s through learning who you are in Christ that you expose the lies the enemy tries to get you to believe about yourself.

 As you replace the lies with the truth, you’ll live the blessed and happy life that Jesus came to give you. You’ll live confident and secure in His unchanging love.
