While I get a ton of positive e-mails, tweets and facebook messages, I do, on occasion, get some that are not so positive. I thought I would take some time today to answer those questions head on.

Buckle up everybody, here we go:

1. I saw your posts on Financial Freedom. I always knew you were fake. If you were so good at couponing, you would not need to post about financial freedom.

I am a human being along with everyone else. My desire is to keep my money saving journey very real and relatable. I do not feel that I am fake, in fact, I feel that I am very honest. It is not easy to share job loss, debt or the fact that we could not afford to eat with hundreds of thousands of people.

My goal with is for others to see how easy it is to save money and to realize that we’re all in this together. We’ve created a community of money savers on this site and now I feel like I am among friends who are all on this journey with me.

2. I can’t buy a book right now so I guess that means I can’t save money. Can’t you put something on this site that teaches us how to save money without spending it?

This entire website is full of free ways to save. In fact, everything I know about couponing is on this site in one form or another and it is completely free. We offer tons of free online videos plus forums that are packed full of information.

I have been teaching couponing for 3 years now and at each class someone would ask me to write a book. Everyone learns in different ways, for me, I like books and I like to research while others may need the one-on-one assistance. The book is a convenient way to learn the strategy, workshops work the same way as well. However, you can also learn by using the resources available on this site.

3. I spent 2 hours finding, printing and clipping coupons only to go to my store and find out they do not accept printed coupons. Why send me to a store that doesn’t take coupons? You are a waste of time!

Our forums are full of official coupon policies for the actual stores we cover. It is very important that you contact your store near you and find out their coupon policy.

I will show you the coupons and the deals and I will teach you how to save but it is up to you to contact your actual store.

4. You are claiming that I can cut my grocery bill by 50%, by not changing any of the products I currently use, and only spending one hour a week doing it. That is a flat out lie.

You are right, I actually spend about 30 minutes a week doing it so I guess one hour was a bit of a stretch. :)

Please remember, although this site is all about deals and coupons, I also teach a smart shopping strategy. It will take time to learn how that works either by buying my book, checking out Couponing 101 or researching the forums. Once you get it down, it becomes quick and easy to do. I do not have tons of time so I can promise you, if it took me hours and hours each week just to save money then I would not do it.

All I am teaching is where to find the coupons, where to use them and when to use them. Once you get that down, it becomes second nature.

5.  I just wanted to comment that your speaking voice is less than desirable to listen to…You have the habit of speaking with a strong nasal quality.

Uh, ok. You’re gonna have to take that one up with the Lord! =)

I am not afraid to answer questions but my goal is to teach people how to become good stewards of their finances and also how to feed our families without breaking the bank.  I have no desire to become fixated on e-mails and messages that will only bring me down. I am determined to keep my eyes on the Lord.

A big thanks to all of you who faithfully visit our website each and everyday and for all the positive e-mails and facebook messages. I appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you.

We’re making couponing cool again, one barcode at a time! :)
