Extreme Giving: Stock Up & Give Back

So, now that we all know about Extreme Couponing, let's talk about 'Extreme Giving.' One of the biggest blessings with couponing is the ability to give back to those around you. The thing is, that doesn't mean you have to find a large charity (although that's just fine) but you can also just walk outside your front door.

Chances are one of your neighbors is in need too. Right now, there are over 13.5 million Americans unemployed that means there are quite a few people in need of your help. Isn't it great when you hear of a need and you have the ability to fulfill it? Just recently, I found out a family member was in need so I went straight to my stockpile.

The picture above is of a simple box full of personal care items to help him out right now. It was easy and most of the items were free after coupons. Those items add up and when every penny counts sometimes just the cost of toothpaste can be too much.

Yeah, we need to be 'extreme couponers' but not so we can hide toilet paper in our shower, but so we can give toilet paper to those who really need it or diapers to families that actually have kids. In my opinion, if you're going to be 'extreme' anything, be an extreme giver.

I have several family members graduating high school this year and heading off to college in the fall. I am using couponing and freebies to put together a nice big laundry basket of essentials to get them started. Walmart had laundry baskets for $3 and the rest is practically free!

Amen! It's so much more fun to see someone get use out the extra items I aquire! I feel blessed, God gave me the time, organizational skills and ability to help not only my family but so many others.

I always tell people "God wanted you to have thees items, he just used me as a vessel to get them to you".

This Thursday April 21st is a nationwide Flash Mob of Kindness day. Get a bag of stuff or a couple bags and take them somewhere you know you can find someone in need ie., welfare ofc, employment ofc, homeless shelter, etc.. give them a bag and tell them it will get better and your praying for them.

That's right! I wish Extreme Couponing would look for someone who coupons but gives it ALL AWAY for good reasons not just for the publicity. The viewers need to see there is more to coupons than hoarding.

Amen to that last post. When I see "Mr Coupon" on that show with his zillions of bottles of shampoo and deodorant, I think of all those who can't afford these basics that he has stuffed in his garage.....

I try to keep my family stocked up with food and health care items. My brother and father are out of work at this time so what ever i can do to help, I will do. Once they get back on their feet I would like to start giving to the Co. Jail inmates and the homeless. I choose the inmates because I worked in a county jail as a nurse for several years and the conditions are disgraceful. The women need sanitary supplies so badly. Most think that for me to help the jails is wrong that their are far more needy people that could use it but how needy do you have to be to end up in jail. I hope that by showing them that some people do care for them, that they can except that seed and go help others.

I love and need freebies horribly!! I am disabled and widowed and my SSI barley covers rent and utilities..I get $13.00 a month food stamps and the state will not give my children health insurance. I worked for many many years busting my butt to give my family a good life but now without a husband and me being very ill having h 2 boys that are very patient with me usually I am grateful.I can't drive due to my illness so it's hard to go try to get outside help from organizations . So when I saw this site I thought okay maybe it might be a prayer for my family! I hate saying no I cant afford new shoes or new boxers because they have holes in them and so and so and with summer vacation starting in a few days I don't know where the extra food is coming from because I am so use to free lunches and only having to make dinner the best possible to fill their growing bodies. So if anyone knows where or what I can do please please share it with me. Thank you from my heart and from my head to my toes!! azmw
