Make Your Own Salad in a Jar
If you were looking for another amazing way to use mason jars well, you came to the right place. I'm pretty sure (thanks to Pinterest), we could do anything out of a mason jar at this point. One thing I did not consider however, was eating lunch out of a jar. Mostly because I would feel weird. Nonetheless, here is a WAY cool idea that will save you money too!
All you have to do is grab a mason jar and place the dressing at the bottom, then pile on the salad--making sure the lettuce is the last thing to go in and stays at the top. If you build your salad like this, it can stay in the jar (in the fridge) for 5 days. That means, you could potentially make all of your lunches for the week at one time and just keep them in the refrigerator so you can grab and go. I'm sure that is what an organized person would do. I'm not an organized person, so I'll continue with my panic-filled lunch packing as I run out the door if you don't mind.
Have fun with this one. Create the salad any way you want preferably with fresh veggies from the garden once the season gets here. Enjoy!
