DIY: Make Your Own Football Door Hanger
Here is a great DIY guest post from our friend Thuy at MyPaperPinwheel.blogspot.com:
Hi Money Saving Queen Readers, are you guys ready for some football? Fall is just around the corner and football season is getting ready to start. I am here to share with you a simple DIY tutorial to show your team spirit and add a little décor to your house.
Brown Burlap (I found mine at Hobby Lobby)
Acrylic paint in White and any other team colors that you want to include
Any type of stencils for spelling out your team name unless you want to freehand it yourself!
Bendable wire (Found at Hobby Lobby)
A hot glue gun
Directions: I started with taking a football shape template and cutting two pieces of the same size.
I then took my white paint and simply freehanded the each side of the football and laces at the top. I then took a set of stamps I had and painted on the color and stamped my letters to the burlap. You can also do the same concept or you can also freehand it as well.
Once all the painting as been completed and polka dot added of course, then you will need to cut a piece of the bendable wire and lace it through the burlap from the middle left side to the middle right side to the length that you desire. Once the metal is attached, I used a hot glue gun to complete my football door hanger but if you want to sew it together, then that would be just as good.
I simply hot glued all around my football and left the middle bottom part open and stuffed it with old newspaper to add some fluff and glued it shut! Viola! A super cute décor to get you in the football spirit and it did not cost you more than $10.00 to make! Happy Crafting Friends!
