Extreme Giving: Mattress Firm Sweet Dreams Giveaway

We've been asking for nominations for our recent Mattress Firm Tulsa Sweet Dreams Giveaway. Thanks to all who nominated very deserving families, the stories were unreal. Darrell nominated Krystle Bertrand and yesterday, Mattress Firm Tulsa & myself delivered two twin size mattresses and a full size mattress to her family.

Krystle is from Virginia and only recently moved to Tulsa to be closer to family while attending nursing school. She was in the Navy and served three years on a Navy ship. She is a single mom of three children and they are adorable! They had only a couch with a pull out mattress to sleep on for the kids while Krystle slept on the floor.

The picture above is me interviewing Darrell about how he knew the family and the reason why he nominated them. When I called and told him that she had won, his heart came right through the phone. It was all I could do to keep it together, such a beautiful story.

Here I am talking to Mattress Firm about this amazing giveaway. It was so hard to read through all of the stories and choose a winner but it is so amazing to be a part of such a blessing to this family. The giving did not stop with mattresses either...

All of us were deeply moved by the courage of this woman and the strength of this family. They were also given bedding, clothing and other items from the Mattress Firm family and other MSQ staff members. We've also been moved by viewers who have called in offering to help and donate.

This was so amazing to be a part of and I thank Mattress Firm Tulsa for letting us participate. Be extreme this year...be an extreme giver!
