Frugal Christmas Gifts Day 20: Glitter Glass Ornaments
| Tweet |
Welcome to Day 20 of our Frugal Christmas Gifts contest! These gifts have been rockin' this year and I've made a TON of them, I hope you've enjoyed them as much as I have. This gift idea/craft was submitted by Amanda of UnorganizedMommy.com. Amanda is one of the most creative and crafty people I know and this submission shows it!
{DIY Glitter Glass Ornaments}

Supplies:
1. Ink Re-filler
2. Glitter
3. 12 pack of Glass Ornaments
4. Sample Size Cups/Dixie Cups
5. Plastic Gloves
6. 1 Envelope (cut one corner of the envelope to use as a funnel) or you can use a sheet of paper as a funnel for the glitter.
Directions:

Step one:
Carefully take out one ornament from the package and remove the top and set the top aside. Wearing gloves, add a generous amount of ink re-filler (lighter colors often work best) into the ornament (appx. 20 droplets of ink). Slowly begin turning the ornament so the ink begins to spread downward and across the ornament. Cover the ornament with ink and face ornament top down into the plastic cup. Let excess ink drain into plastic cup. (you can reuse ink that drains into the cup.)

Step two:
After a couple of minutes draining, add a generous amount of glitter (really it should not take too much glitter). Add the glitter through the funnel made with either paper or an envelope. Using your thumb to cover the top, shake the ornament to spread the glitter around and drain the excess back into the glitter container. After this step you can put the top back onto your ornament and place the ornament back into the container to wrap and give as a gift!

From the Queen: Look how cute those are! I'm going to make them this week with my kids. I was thinking you could actually stencil a design on the outside of the ornament too if you wanted. But, personally, I love glitter....as in I LOVE glitter. When I was a kid, I made my family call me 'Glitter.' Yeah, for real.

Cute! You can also make this same craft using Pledge Floor Cleaner. May be cheaper than the ink re-filler.
So bling-a-licious!
