A few weeks ago, I asked our facebook fans if they had any coupon questions for an upcoming news segment I was taping. I wanted to answer some of those questions in this post today and give you a few links to help you start couponing in the real world.

First, be sure to check out our Couponing 101 post which is full of links to get you started and also bookmark this link and learn how you can help military overseas by sending them your expired coupons.

{Q&A with the Queen}

1. How do you remain pleasant while explaining you are correct while using coupons when speaking to sales people? The best thing to do in this situation is the call a manager over to clarify and double check the transaction and be sure to have your store coupon policy. If that doesn't work, you can put the items back and shop at another store or file a complaint with the corporate office. Sometimes it is frustrating however, maintaining a good attitude is key. Many stores get turned off by couponers who are demanding or rude and that behavior hurts all of us in the end.

2. How do I determine if a coupon is real or fake? The biggest thing is to check your source. Always get your coupons from trustworthy websites or the manufactures website. Here is a post I did awhile back about Real Vs. Fake coupons.

3. Besides couponing, what other ways can I save money? I believe you can save money in every single thing you do whether you are buying groceries, new shoes or remodeling your home. Check out yesterday's post about homemade frugal cleaners and keep a close eye on our site for retail deals and sales too!

I printed a $1 off coupon for a box of Peanut Butter Cheerios from freecouponalerts.com (I print coupons from here all the time and have no problem). When I took it to my store (Nichols) they said they could not use it because it did not have the 2 sets of bar codes. Have you ever heard of this problem before?
