Frugal Living: Make Your Own Air Freshener
| Tweet |
Have you ever had that moment where you completely run out of air freshener right when you need it? We've had a few of those moments since our new dog moved in! There are a couple of ways you can easily freshen up a room. The first is the method I use, this is because I have allergies and I do not do well with scents. My whole goal with an air freshener is just to get rid of the smell not necessarily to replace it so I like to use an unscented air freshener. But, just in case you like scents....I have another option too.
{Unscented Air Freshener}
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tbs White Vinegar
2 cups Water
Directions: Simply mix the ingredients above in a small spray bottle and spray into the air. It actually does work well, the odor disappears quickly.

{Scented Air Freshener}
1 cup Water
4-5 drops of Essential oil
Directions: Mix in a spray bottle and spray. Simple yet completely effective.
If you would like an air freshener to sit out in a room, you can simply fill a jar or small box with baking soda and add a few drops of essential oil.
These are easy to make, non-toxic air fresheners. Try 'em out and let us know if you have a favorite homemade cleaner recipe!

Another easy way to make homemade febreze is to take:
1/4 cup liquid fabric softner
4 cups warm water
2 TB baking powder
pour into spray bottle, shake, and use.
I do this with peppermint oil - 1/3 peppermint oil, 2/3 water
shake each time you use. Keep away from eyes.
You can spray for scent or for kepp away mice, insects, etc.
