Frugal Living: DIY Disposable Cupcake Box
| Tweet |
Transporting cupcake and need a carrier? One of the gals in our office, Jessica, had this super clever solution. This will keep you from spending extra money on a carrier plus, it's disposable so you don't have to carry it home.

1. Grab a Cereal Box from the Pantry
2. Tape the Opening Closed
3. Cut the Top to Create a Flap
4. Place Tape on the Corner to Keep 'Lid' from Falling In
The next time I created one... Yep, I have made several. I just cut the flap bigger so it doesn't fall in. They are super handy, but I do have lost bags of cereal without their box. Now I need a basket for them! I just tied the finished box with some cute ribbon. Just be sure to hold it with your hand on the bottom when you carry it. Yep, I'm a superstar.

Another way is to cut x's into one of the flat sides of the cereal box (or gift box/mailing box), press the "x" open and sit each cupcake in an opening. You can cover with aluminum foil to "dress it up" a bit.
I love this! I decorate cakes and cupcakes and am always trying to find boxes to carry cupcakes in. I hate wasting the money on professional boxes and am big on recycling so this is great.
