Financial Freedom: Put Your Credit Card on Ice

I can't take credit for this idea (no pun intended) but I can tell you it works. Years ago, I met a man who gave me a few tips for staying out of credit card debt. He told a story of a woman who was constantly swiping her husband's credit cards until finally he froze them. As in, he put them individually into cups, poured water on them and put them in the freezer.

Crazy you say?

Not really. The next time she went to use the credit card, she had to sit it out and let it unthaw all day long. By the time it thawed out, the thrill was gone and she didn't make her purchases. In the end, she dreaded unthawing out those cards and ended up curbing your spending all because of a little ice.

This is a great way to make you think twice before you swipe. If this is a problem for you or someone you know, let them know about the freezing method. You'll be surprised how much it helps!
