Update: Just this morning we showed Thuy's famous Cake Stand Tutorial so I wanted to repost it again for you to see too:

Hi Money Saving Queen Readers! My name is Thuy Bui with My Paper Pinwheel and I am here to share with you a simple and very inexpensive way to make your own cake stand for under $2.00!

{Supplies}

Plastic Plate

Candlestick Holder

Directions: Cake stands are a HOT item right now and like any hot item, they can come with a pretty price tag. Making your own cake stand is easier than you think and all the supplies may already be items you have in your home.  With this simple cake stand, I took a clear glass candle holder that I purchased at the Dollar Tree.  The plate I used on top was a plate I already owned.

I put a little hot glue on the top of the candle holder and simply placed my plate on top and held down for about 15 seconds to secure it in place--and, there my friends, is a simple yet cute cake stand that cost me less than $2.00!  If you're like me and like to change things up, you can simply pop off your plate and glue on another to coordinate with your theme! Happy Cake Stand making !

Very cute, most DIYs paint over the cake stand and the stem but this doesnt have to be painted anymore. The red goes well with the crystal. It's very cute even if I prefer purely crystal cake stands.
