Can you see what's happening in that picture above? That is my son, passed out from boredom in the backseat of our van this weekend. We took a 12 hour ride from Tulsa to Wisconsin to visit family and stay at the dairy farm. While he loved the farm, he was not a fan of the car ride nor was my other son.
However, we did have an iPad. Not sure what we would have done without it. You see, I have a minivan...a real one. The doors do not open by themselves, the seats do not swivel around in all directions and there are no DVD players hiding in the ceiling. Yep, I'm cheap and my car shows it. Therefore, we have to make due with what we've got.
What did we have? 2 iPhones, 1 iPad and a whole lotta free apps! The boys loved them and so did I, kept me from having to buy a DVD player too. If you're hitting the road this summer, be sure to check out this article in Woman's Day Magazine: 10 Road-Trip Ready Kids' Apps.
