If fashion is your passion, you won’t want to miss the 11th annual Abersons & Friends Warehouse Sale. The giant shopping event, which benefits Family & Children’s Services, will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 28 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 29 at the agency’s central office, 650 S. Peoria Ave.

Entry to the sale – which features men’s, women’s and children’s clothing; designer shoes, sparkling accessories, furniture and home décor, genuine collector’s items and more – is free, but donations are accepted and encouraged. Dozens of local retailers have contributed merchandise which will be available for purchase at deeply discounted prices of up to 85 percent off.

Warehouse sale co-chairpersons Suzie Kern and Meredith Fazel invite dedicated shopaholics to get first dibs on merchandise at a preview party from 4 to 7 p.m. March 27. Tickets to the preview party can be purchased online at www.fcsok.org/warehousesale for $25, or at the door for $35. Light refreshments will be provided.

Family & Children’s Services will use proceeds from the sale to provide counseling, mental health care and family strengthening services to children who have been abused or traumatized, families in crisis, and individuals battling mental illness and addiction. Last year, Family & Children’s Services helped change the lives of nearly 104,000 clients and family members.

A record-number 62 merchants have donated good for the sale. A few of those participating include Abersons, Embellishments, Secret Garden Candle Company, Little Black Dress, Garden Trug, On a Whim, Sideways, T.A. Lorton, Wild Birds Unlimited, Mary Ruby, John Daniel Footwear, You’re Invited, Kicks for Kids, Ida Red, The Lolly Garden, Lambrusco’z To Go, Boxworks, The Inviting Place, MustStash, Margo’s Gift Shop, You’re Invited and Abelina’s.

Laura Mantooth, vice president of resource development on the Family & Children’s Services Board of Directors, said doll collectors will also want to make plans to attend the sale. A private collector donated a set of 54 pristine porcelain dolls, including many from the discontinued Ashton Drake Yolanda’s Picture-Perfect Babies collection. The dolls are boxed, accompanied by certificates of authenticity and priced to move.
