If you haven't started the 2nd Saturday tradition at your house, start this week.  Philbrook Museum of Art has fun activities and crafts for kids for FREE each month on the 2nd Saturday.  Plus, be sure to roam the museum and gardens while you are there.

Join the free art club for kids and receive an art card and supply each month. If you are already a My Museum member, please stop by for this month’s cool free supplies.

This month's crafts include:

  • Creating dreamy art by tearing construction paper and layering it into fun shapes
  • Learning how to use tempera paint shades to create beautiful outdoor landscapes

Let Blue’s Clues entertain you while you learn all about different kinds of shapes plus how to mix your own special colors to use in your paintings in the children's theater.

There are three storytime tours at 11 am, 12:30 pm and 2 pm.  This week kids can listen to a children’s story led by Rusty the Squirrel, as they get up close and personal with some of the best artwork at Philbrook.

Docent-led tours are given starting in the Rotunda at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Don't forget to pick up one of the scavenger hunt sheets that lead you through the museum's galleries.  There are several hunts to choose from.  They are available at the registration table and the great hall.

All activities and crafts are from 10 am to 4 pm at Philbrook Museum of Art located at 2727 South Rockford Road (just east of Peoria Avenue) in Tulsa.  Admission to the museum is free for adults and children Saturday, March 9, 2013.
