Take a peek at Such Pretty Things and read how to make custom colored sprinkles. It just takes white sprinkles, bags, powdered food coloring or petal dust and a toothpick. Put them in a bag with a little bit of the powdered food coloring or petal dust and give it a shake... viola! You got sprinkles in any color you want. Now you just need a cupcake to top it off! This idea makes matching your theme colors even easier!

I saw one where you could use gel or liquid coloring as well, but maybe add a touch of corn starch. I'm not sure how much dry coloring cost, but I already have the liquid kind. Works well with sanding sugar as well.
