DIY: Make Your Own Spray Starch

Just yesterday I went clothing shopping and of course, they were all a wrinkled mess by the time I took them out of the bag. I grabbed my iron and suddenly realized I was out of starch. I don't know if I was having a lazy moment or the fact that I live so far away from any store just kinda hit me but I did not want to run out and buy starch. I researched for a bit and found out that I could make my own and guess what? It actually worked!!

You can make the following recipe for spray starch and keep it in a spray bottle for months just be sure to shake well before you use it.

{DIY Spray Starch}

1 Cup Water

1-3 Tsp Cornstarch

Spray Bottle

This is the easiest recipe. Simply add 1-3 teaspoons of cornstarch to a cup of water and add it to a spray bottle. Shake well then spray on your clothes and iron away! If you like your clothes to have more starch, simply add more. I'm pretty sure I added more than 3 tsp but I like it to have a 'starchy' feel.

It worked well for me, I was able to iron all of my clothes for pennies compared to buying a can of spray starch. After it sits for awhile the cornstarch will separate so just shake it up again and you're good to go!
