If you buy an item and the price drops, many times you simply bring back your receipt and the store will give you the difference. That policy is called a price adjustment and every single store has a different take on it.
This can become strategic however, when we're talking about Christmas shopping. Let's say you bought a HOT toy item on December 23rd only to find out that it's 50% off the day after Christmas. Well, if your store has a price adjustment policy, you could simply take back your receipt and get that difference back in cash. BAM! Instant deal.
Here are a few price adjustment policies for this year's hottest stores:
Price Adjustment Policies
- 14 days after item is purchased
- can be done for online and in-store purchases
- no applicable on clearance apparel items
- Receipt is needed to be return at the same location where item was purchased

What about Toys R Us? I just purchased some items from there last night, but then heard today that there is a possibility of the price dropping around the 15th?

Be Careful at Target- Owasso. I bought some Scrabble games and used a coupon on them. Price dropped 8.00 and I took my receipt in next day and because I used coupon on the game - they wouldn't price adjust game.
