Make Your Own Face Cleaning Wipes

I'm not quite sure why I'm so happy in the picture above, guess I was a little over excited about making face cleansing wipes! I love taking makeup remover face wipes in my purse or when I travel because they barely take up space.  But they can be so expensive - 20 cents a wipe adds up.  So, I make my own!

I simply made my own and it only cost three cents per wipe which means major savings compared to the name brand.

Here's what you will need:

Paper Towels

2 TBS Face Wash

2 TBS Coconut Oil

2-3 Cups Water

Measure 2 tablespoons of coconut oil into a microwave-safe dish and zap for a few seconds until it is liquid.  Mix with two cups of water and a couple squirts of face wash. You can add more water if you feel the need to, personally, I add 2 cups then if they dry out, I add a little more.

Soak the paper towels in the solution.  I chose Viva because they're absorbent. DO NOT use a cheap paper towel or they will completely fall apart. You can also cut the paper towels in half with a knife if you'd like to or buy the towels that are perforated into smaller sheets.

Store in a sealed container or separate into zipper baggies.

So let's compare prices . . . 400 store-bought makeup remover wipes would cost $80. The same number of the D-I-Y version cost $12. That’s a savings of $68!

Honestly, it works and they're easy to make with products you probably already have on hand. Try it out and let us know what you think!

What's the coconut oils purpose? I have very oily & delicate skin. Will this cause me to have additional breakouts? I realize I can control my facial wash ingredient but, I'm just concerned about any additional oil.

BTW: I'll be making my 3rd "serving" of your pressed powder "recipe".
very soon. (cornstarch / baby powder.) LOVE IT!!!

You can use any type of oil or even baby lotion, the purpose is to remove the makeup and from what I read the coconut oil does the best job at that without causing breakouts. But, if it makes you nervous, you could even try to substitute with your own regular face moisturizer.
