*Please Note: This post has been updated. I am very well aware the foods shown in the pantry organizer are not the healthiest foods. In fact, I learned that the hard way with my own health. That being said, we do not eat many of the foods in the picture any longer. However, we do still use the shoe organizer. It works great! Please read the original post and the updated version below. Thank you.
A friend of mine came to my house last year and organized my pantry, she’s a professional organizer with the BEST tips! The most life changing tip she gave was to purchase an over the door shoe holder and use it to store snacks and other items that don’t necessarily need to be kept in their boxes. Sometimes all those boxes take up way too much space so this solution was easy and pretty cheap.
Just a side note, for those of you with small kiddos, keep the healthy snacks towards the bottom and they’ll be more likely to reach for those when they get a craving. What you’re seeing in the picture above is towards the top of the door and my kids cannot reach it. I picked this shoe holder up at Walmart for about $7 and it has been great!
Several years ago, I wrote the above post about using shoe organizers to help organize a pantry. I filled the over-the-door organizer with various snacks making it easy to reach for my kiddos. The problem? The post went semi-viral (if that’s a thing) and I ended up with thousands of comments telling me that I should not feed my kids fruit snacks, etc.
I wanted to reintroduce the idea of using a shoe organizer throughout the house because I actually do this and it works. This time, however, I’m going to show off school supplies. Surely school supplies are ok, right?
I absolutely love using these, I picked this organizer up at Walmart and it works great. You can use them for household cleaners, craft supplies, snacks or just about anything else.
I do believe using the clear organizer is the best simply so you can see what is inside the organizer especially if it is for kiddos. Enjoy!
